Storyfest Writing Competition

Platform Youth Arts and Central Geelong Marketing have teamed up to offer an exciting writing competition for young people, the perfect activity to enjoy while staying at home.The second annual Storyfest Writing Competition is open to all Geelong residents aged 8 - 18 who have a story to tell. In response to COVID-19 and its evolving effect on how we engage as a society, this year we are inviting people to submit stories around the theme of social connection. Entrants are invited to respond through any form of creative written expression, including creative writing, poetry, non-fiction and essays. Writers should try experimenting with new ways of writing! Inspired by contemporary artist, Elizabeth Gower, Pattern Play simulates the artist’s labour-intensive processes to create unique digital patterns. Gower uses hand-cut remnants from advertising materials and everyday products to create a multitude of designs that reference patterns from the natural world and the built environment.
