Original painting and illustrations by Paul Livingston.
Official Opening plus CD launch and readings from The Flacco Flies & Flacco's Burnt Offerings
Date: Saturday 22 July, 3pm
Paul Livingston is the mild-mannered persona behind the comedy phenomenon FLACCO whose many television credits include: GOOD NEWS WEEK, THE BIG GIG, DAAS KAPITAL, MONEY OR THE GUN, two SANDMAN AND FLACCO SPECIALS for the Ten Network and THE SIDESHOW for the ABC, and he was a regular on the TRIPLE J BREAKFAST program from 1994-97. FLACCO has toured extensively in Australia and internationally and since 2014 as “THE GUITARIST” with Tim Ferguson and Paul McDermott in the reformed DOUG ANTHONY ALLSTARS playing to full houses and earning five star reviews in London and Edinburgh in 2016 - 2017. While Paul is best known for Flacco, his graphic skills and guitar playing have taken a back seat, but he can no longer ignore the response from audiences for the soundtrack he composed for the ABC D.A.A.S documentary, ”TICK F***ING TOCK”. Paul has been outed as a “musician” and is determined to set the record straight with the release of his debut CD, THE TOWERS GROW DARK. Formerly an art student and animator, this exhibition spans over twenty years and includes original works published in two of Paul’s publications, FLACCO’S BURNT OFFERINGS published by Penguin books in 1996 and THE FLACCO FILES, an illustrated commentary on the state of being published by Allen and Unwin in 1999 with a second expanded volume in 2000. Paul will present readings from these books. With this many feathers in his skull, this exhibition should offer something for everyone.
Exhibition: 22 June - 27 July (Wednesday to Saturday 11am - 4pm)
