Park & Ride

There are more parking options for workers and shoppers in Central Geelong. By parking and riding, you are helping the environment, freeing up car spaces for customers in Central Geelong and saving money on parking fees.

Central Geelong Shuttle - Park and Ride service at Eastern Park



For those living on the eastern side of Geelong or on the Bellarine Peninsula, there is a Park and Ride service that operates from Upper Hearne Parade, Eastern Park.

Departing From
Upper Hearne Parade, Eastern Park to Malop Street outside Myer.

Times
Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 10am and then from 4pm to 6.30pm (approximately every 7 minutes). 

Cost
$2 per day (includes all day car park). Payable at the ticket machine in Eastern Park. One way tickets are available from City Hall Customer Service Centre.

Kardinia Park and Ride



Starting 1 May, Central Geelong workers can park all day at Kardinia Park and travel into Central Geelong and back using public buses for just $2 a day.  The service will operate from Mondays to Fridays.

The $2 will be payable to the ticket machine next to the bus stop at the Moorabool Street entrance to Kardinia Park (opposite De Grandi Sport and Cycle).   Passengers then present this ticket to the bus driver when they board a McHarry’s or Benders bus.
Between 7.30am and 9.30am there are 15 buses running from Kardinia Park to a number of drop off points in Central Geelong.  Average travel time via these buses is seven minutes.

At the end of the day, passengers can board a southbound McHarry’s or Benders bus to return to Kardinia Park.  Between 5.00pm and 6.30pm there are 11 buses running from bus stops in Lt Malop Street and Ryrie Street to Kardinia Park.

A Park and Ride pocket timetable is available to all users to help you plan your  travel. Supplies of the pocket timetable will be sent to all Central Geelong businesses prior to the commencement of the service. To download a pocket timetable click here.

The new service will help ease traffic congestion and provides a convenient, low-cost parking option for Central Geelong workers.

As a special introductory offer to Central Geelong workers, Kardinia Park and Ride patrons will receive a FREE copy of the Geelong Advertiser to enjoy on their bus ride to work and a FREE 8 ounce coffee from Banjo’s Bakehouse, 111-113 Moorabool Street, Central Geelong on presentation of their parking ticket. Limit of one coffee and one newspaper per person per day applies. Newspaper to be collected at the newspaper stand at Kardinia Park.

Both Park and Ride services are provided by the City of Greater Geelong, Central Geelong Marketing and the State Government Department of Transport.
