Dear Business Operator,
The fourth annual Storyfest is back these autumn school holidays, Saturday 6 April to Thursday 18 April 2019.
The 13 day festival is a celebration of storytelling in any form and is for children aged 3 to 16 years and their adults. Kids participate in fun activities, performances, workshops and exhibitions hosted by Central Geelong businesses - led by artists, storytellers, educators and entertainers.
Your business is invited to participate in Storyfest by; hosting an event, facilitating an event for Central Geelong Marketing, running a competition or by providing a competition prize, providing a free venue for CGM to use for activities or by providing a special offer.
Last year's event featured 229 activities, 12,253 participants and a total economic output of $517,428. The centralgeelong.com.au/storyfest saw 14,233 views, 37,957 reach on social media and over 10,000 people received direct mail/email about Storyfest.
In 2019 your activity, competition and or special offer will be included in a print and online program. The program will be distributed to over 7,500 registered families, Visitor Information Centres, CoGG Customer Service Centres and Leisure Centres, Schools and Kindergartens, and Central Geelong businesses.
There's no cost for Central Geelong businesses to participate in Storyfest.
LEAH, THE CAROUSEL
In 2018 we held 'Let's Draw Horses' workshops with the artist Bronte Stead. Bronte really enjoyed delivering these workshops and said it was one of the best classes of children he has taught whilst doing school holiday activities. The children were so well behaved and wanted to learn! For The Carousel, Storyfest is a great way for us to showcase the multi-use of the facility and to offer new experiences to families.
AMBER, COURTHOUSE YOUTH ARTS
Our participation in Storyfest has helped us to further develop and diversify our own school holiday program, expanding our offerings to the youth of Geelong and also helping us reach a wider audience. Storyfest has allowed Courthouse Youth Arts to showcase the range of experiences we offer to a larger network, helping us to dramatically increase participation and visitation.
FELICITY, MARKET SQUARE SHOPPING CENTRE
We love participating in Central Geelong’s Storyfest Program. Our imaginative play installation ‘The Big Build’ was very well received by shoppers and attracted large numbers to Market Square to eat, shop and play.
