Platform Youth Arts and Central Geelong Marketing have teamed up to bring you the Storyfest Writing Competition, open to all Geelong residents aged 8 - 18 who have a story to tell.

In response to Covid-19 and its evolving effect on how we engage as a society, this year we are inviting people to submit stories around the theme of social connection.

What is social connection within our community? We now sit within a rapidly-shifting social environment, so how can we now engage thoughtfully with our peers, care for our communities and show solidarity across borders whilst keeping our distance? How can we soothe our feelings of disconnection or isolation? We want to know what you think a connected future can (or will) look like.

Respond through any form of creative written expression, including creative writing, poetry, non-fiction and essays. Try experimenting with new ways of writing!

Storyfest writing competition opens 28 March, entries close 30 April 2020
