Be inspired by the bold, vibrant and colourful mid-century designs of Marion Hall Best and learn how to screen print in a day – with Nichola Prested from Handmaker’s Factory.
In this NWM Masterclass, you will learn the basics of screen printing including effective set up, equipment needed to do this at home and the best way to translate your design to stencil.
Create your own design on the day or bring ideas from home. You will learn how to print multiple colours and how to print a repeat pattern. You will go home with a finished cushion and all the info about the techniques taught, other printed design and the knowledge to continue at home. You will also discover Marion Hall Best: Interiors exhibition during a short guided tour and have access to all collections and exhibitions on the day.
No creative experience necessary (suitable for participants aged 16+).

What to bring:
•Clothes you don't mind getting paint on.
•Any ideas, pictures or drawings to use as inspiration for your prints.
•Basic cotton fabric and a cushion cover will be supplied. Feel free to bring along your own fabric, t-shirt, tea towels or tote bags. Light colours are best.
•A selection of ink colours will be available which can also be mixed to create new colours. If you would like to use particular colours please feel free to bring these to the workshop.
•Please bring your own lunch – fridge, sandwich toaster & microwave available. Or you can visit one of the many local cafes and restaurants in the area!
