Centra  FREE Central Geelong School Holiday Program and Fun Guide

The Central Geelong School Holiday Program offers children aged 4 - 10 years of age a huge range of FREE Activities and special offers from Central Geelong businesses every School Holidays.

The July program activities are now booked out. If you would like to receive a copy of the September Central Geelong School Holiday Fun Guide register by emailing centralgeelong@geelongcity.vic.gov.au and provide the name, age and address of the children that would like to receive a copy of the Fun Guide.

What        Basket Ball holiday activity with the Geelong Supercats-includes free throw and 3 on 3 and a
                BBQ by XTG from 12pm to 1pm. Cost is $1 per snag and you get a FREE snow cone.

CENTRAL GEELONG FARMERS MARKET

Saturday 12th July 2008, 8:30am - 12.30pm

Little Malop Street Central, between Moorabool & Yarra Streets

It's Christmas in July at the Farmers Market this month. Wander amongst the stalls and and sample some of the region's finest fresh produce and unique gourmet treats. Choose from fresh fruit and vegetables, chutneys and preserves, biscuits, breads, pasta and sauces, cheeses, flowers, wine, pesto, coffee and more.

There's plenty of live entertainment, a FREE miniature animal farm for the kids! See market chef 'Chez Jo' create a delicious feast using market products at the cooking school, with free cooking demonstrations at 9am, 10am & 11am.

The Central Geelong Farmers Market is held on the Second Saturday of each month, 8:30am - 12:30pm. Little Malop Street Central, between Moorabool & Yarra Streets.

Park and Ride - two new options to help you park in Central Geelong

 

Park & Ride City Shuttle Service from Eastern Park

 

Use the Central Geelong park and ride - city shuttle service to get you to work without the worry of finding a park. Park your car at Hearne Parade, then catch the shuttle buses provided into Central Geelong (drop off is at the corner of Moorabool and Malop Streets).  Hours of operation are 7.30am – 10am and 4.00pm – 6.30pm.  The wait should be no longer than seven minutes.

 Park & Ride - Belmont Shuttle

Another option is to park your car free in Belmont in the designated car park on the corner of Barrabool Rd and Moorabool St (underneath the James Harrison Bridge). This service will use existing public transport into and out of Central Geelong at a cost of approximately $1.80 each way. The Bus Stop is directly outside Lewis Tyrepower on High St .

Buy Local Campaign 

A major Buy-Local campaign was launched in the Geelong region in May 2007 to boost the local economy and ensure money from the local economy stays in the local economy.  Customers will receive Buy-Local points when they purchase goods or services from participating businesses that can be used in Buy-Local auctions to obtain Buy-Local rewards.  Customers also have the chance to win one of 40 prizes in the weekly prize draw.
